Anyone watching the transfer deadline day madness on Twitter is apt to have a headache right now. Fernando Torres in a helicopter. Fernando Torres in a car. Charlie Adam going nowhere. Oh wait, Charlie Adam transfer to Liverpool! And Aston Villa have their own drama going on. One moment, the local journalists are tweeting that the club are insisting that the Stephen Ireland deal is going through. Shortly thereafter, Sky Sports report that the Stephen Ireland transfer is in doubt.

And as I'm writing this, Sky Sports has reported that STEPHEN IRELAND IS OFF TO NEWCASTLE! Thank goodness--can we all throw a party now? Aston Villa now have but one Stephen left to offload, and that's Warnock. What with Liverpool spending £50m on Andy Carroll and Charlie Adam, they likely have no spare change for a left back. But ridding the Villa of Steve Sidwell and Stephen Ireland is worth almost as much as buying Darren Bent.
