Premier League Points Leaders: Week Four - We Ain't Got No History
If you haven't been reading the work that Graham has been doing at We Ain't Got No History, you're doing yourself a disservice. In this weeks edition of a regular feature taking a look at the clutch-iest (clutchest?) players in the EPL, we find that the highest Villan on the list is Stewart Downing! No doubt helped by his gorgeous goal on Monday. For those of you familiar with Win Expectancy in baseball (Ed: link now not Amazon!), this will seem familiar. The big difference: Graham's breaking totally new ground in soccer.
Laursen: Inspirational Houllier a class act - Official Site
Martin Laursen gives his take on Houllier at the OS. He makes mention of the fact that the appointment, if nothing else, will likely give the players a short-term spark of enthusiasm. Let's hope that spark can translate into something a bit more long-lived. Laursen addresses that hope here.
As was said in his presser, the new manager will be in the stands for Bolton, and officially take charge on Monday. That means his first game on the touchline will be the Carling Cup matchup v. Blackburn next Wednesday. In related news, Houllier, despite being French, is closer to being a Birmingham native than either MON or David Moyes. (h/t Aston Villa Central)
