Please Welcome Blackpool to the Premier League!

Blackpool are the 44th different team to find a place in the English Premier League. Well done you Seasiders!

Oi, what a game this morning! If you were awake and not chasing down a live stream of the Blackpool v Cardiff match, you certainly missed a cracking game. It was 3-2 at the half, with chances flying on both sides of the field early in the second.Cardiff kicked off the scoring with an 8-minute goal from Michael Chopra, fed the ball from ex-Villan Peter Whittingham. The Seasiders answered back just five minutes later, with a free kick from Charlie Adam finding the top corner of the net.

Blackpool ran circles around the Bluebirds for a good 20 minutes until Joe Ledley equalised with yet another feed from Whittingham. Again Blackpool came back within minutes, A corner confounded Cardiff with David Marshall unable to properly clear or collect, and Gary Taylor-Fletcher managed to head the ball in. Blackpool finally managed to take the lead with a little poke in from Brett Ormerod.

After half-time it was all about space, with plenty of chances from either side. The Seasidersl almost allowed Cardiff an equaliser when Chopra again threatened. Keeper Matthew Gilks came out to meet the challenge but the ball fell through his hands, missing the goal by just a few inches. Villa supporters found another reason to cheer when on-loan Barry Bannon came on with just a few minutes left to play, making a bit of an impact by rattling the Cardiff keeper.

No matter which team fought their way into the EPL, the league would've found a bit more color--Blackpool played in bright tangerine shorts while their fans wore orange traffic cones as headgear, and while Cardiff opted for a sleek royal blue, the glowing yellow insets on their kit certainly caught the eye of the viewer. Fashion is important, and I'm excited to see more orange on the field.

The kits might be making the pitches prettier but the defence will not--particularly if Chelsea continues to feast upon the weak.Blackpool  will probably want to spend a few of their hard-won pounds to shore up their back line if they want to stay up next season. Hugs though to Barry Bannan for Blackpool, who produces a great spell of alliteration. And well done to both teams for such an exciting final.
