Ahead of Villa’s televised clash with Brentford tonight, Aston Villa have signed ‘The Bees’ lead man in Scott Hogan. Hogan joins Villa in a deal that could be worth up to £15 million for the London club. It’s fair to say that Hogan will be supplied with a hefty wage by Xia and Villa, as well.
The Daily Mail note that Villa have beat Premier League clubs to a signing for the second time this moth.
Hogan’s a regular goal scorer for Brentford and will link up with Villa’s current beast up front, Jonathan Kodjia in the hope that a real partnership can be formed. That being said, Ross McCormack is a proven goalscorer and well - that didn’t work out did it?
It should be noted that this isn’t a massive outlay for Aston Villa who have already moved Rudy Gestede on and are looking to sell both Ashley Westwood and Jordan Ayew for a combined fee of around £10 million to Burnley and Swansea respectively. Let’s talk about net spend, yeah?
