Touted for a few years as one of the bright young talents of Aston Villa's youth system, Nathan Delfouneso is a player that just didn't pan out for one reason or another. Just 23 years old, he still has most of his career in front of him. After loan spells starting in 2011 at Burnley, Leicester City, Blackpool (two times) and Coventry City, he returned to Aston Villa hoping to get a new contract. Unfortunately, the forward just didn't do enough to crack the squad with such great players like Jordan Bowery and Emile Heskey clogging up the depth chart.
Today it was announced that the former England youth international will be going back to Blackpool, on a permanent basis. If you haven't heard, Blackpool are in somewhat of a crisis, having only eight (8!) players on their roster two days ago, but are moving forward by signing players on only one-year deals because frankly, their owner sucks. Even though times have been tough at Villa lately, at least we aren't in the situation that Blackpool are in.
Best of luck at Bloomfield Road, Fonz.
