Perhaps Brad Friedel Would Like to Stay in the Midlands? West Bromwich Show Some Interest

On the plus side, Villa fans at away matches could be like every annoying person at a concert ever. "PLAY FRIEDEL!"

In the comments of her second Brad Friedel story of the day, Kirsten made an exasperated comment about that sent me
searching the Internet. Apparently our favorite keeper has been linked with the midlands despite the fact that Liverpool seems to have him sewn up already. This should be a good thing, but rather than Aston Villa, the club that there are rumors of Friedel joining is West Bromwich Albion.

I can't find a really good story - and I doubt that there is any truth to this - so I will just link you to this fine piece of writing from the Daily Mail. Allow me to excerpt:

West Bromwich Albion are confident Brad Friedel will choose to sign for them today, ahead of Liverpool and Spurs.

Wait, does it count as an excerpt if it's 2/3 of the article? Seriously, that's all there is. No source. No reporting. In fact, the bit there (the only bit about Friedel) isn't even twice as long as the headline. I'd say this rumor doesn't have legs. But who knows? The way Brad Friedel rumors are popping up, I expect him to be pitching for the Oakland Athletics by tomorrow morning, with a part-time job as the starting keeper for the USMNT.
